| Modi giving Omar political nightmares | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 29: Modi has come as a political juggernaut for his political adversaries and has emerged the principal contender for the post of Prime Minister and has raised himself above his party. As poll analysts predict, there is huge probability of him becoming the next Prime Minister of India.
This probability has become Omar's worst fear. Modi's emergence at the Centre could mar the chances of Omar return to power in J&K. Central Government always has a major say in the making of Chief Minister of the State. A party in power can also convince its opposition to support its view for particular party especially in J&K as BJP has been supportive of Congress on many of its policies in the past.
Modi at Centre could also put the BJP back on the path to recovery in the J&K to whom Omar had reduced to petty political party.
All the moves of the Omar would he checkmated by Modi if he comes to the power and this would definitely be giving nightmares to the Chief Minister .
A resurgent BJP would do most damage to the Congress in the State elections and this would end the chances of the Omar again becoming the CM. Omar had put all his eggs in the basket of Congress and by falling short of abusing Modi, he had antagonized him the most.
Any attempt by NC to cross fences in case the BJP comes to power would not please Congress which had rescued his chair many times.
Omar is trying to project Modi as demon for Muslims and Kashmir. He is trying to rake up this feeling to project himself as the guardian and more loyal than the King for the Congress.
Omar has a feeling that even if the Congress gets maximum seats, his equation with the top shot of the Congress would ensure him another term as the Chief Minister. |
