5 forest employees transferred, locals seek action against contractor | Roads through Limber Sanctuary | | Javaid Naikoo SRINAGAR, Nov 29: Five employees of Forest Department were transferred for inaction during vandalization of Limber wild life sanctuary. The locals filed a joint application in Police station Boniyar to book the blue eyed contractor involved in constructing two roads in between the wild life sanctuary of Uri constituency. According to the details received from the office of the chief wild life warden North Kashmir, Rauf Zargar five employees of his department namely Muhammad Yousuf Khakad, a forest guard, Ghulam Mohammad Zara, Maqsood Ahmad one forest range officer namely Peer Mushtaq Ahmad and one Forester Mushtaq Ahmad Lone were transferred after the matter of construction of two roads in between Limber wild sanctuary without the all important "no objection certificate"(NOC) was highlighted by Early Times recently and brought to the notice of concerned wild life officials including the Chief wildlife warden of Jammu and Kashmir, A.K Singh. Sources said that all erring employees have been transferred only after wild life officials found them in nexus with a considered a close associate of Minister for Health Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din who constructed the roads during nights. They said that the blue eyed contractor is working at the behest of Taj Mohi-ud-Din and is openly vandalizing Limber wild life sanctuary by constructing two roads one from Limber to Shahkot and another from Shahkot to Badroli areas without consulting the department of wild life. The construction is funded from the Constituency development fund of Taj Mohi-ud-Din. Locals of Najar Mohalla of Uri constituency while thanking early times for highlighting the matter of a far farlung area jointly filed an application in police station Boniyar against the Contractor and his colleagues who are responsible for vandalizing the wild life sanctuary and also damaging their houses by blasting during nights. "We found no other option except to approach police and lodge a FIR against this blue eyed contractor who has damaged my house by blasting during nights" said one local, Mushtaq Ahmad. The station house officer (SHO) Boniyar said that Police is investigating the matter and looking for the facts to register a FIR against the accused. According to the chief wild life warden, A.K Singh, Department of wild life would take all the necessary measures required to save the Limber wild life sanctuary. He has authorized the Chief Wild life warden of North Kashmir to take such measures as he deems fit to protect and preserve the sanctuary. |
