Srinagar, Nov 29: Due to increased anthropogenic activities, the lake ecosystem of the world renowned Dal Lake has been seriously damaged and realizing the gravity of situation, scientists and people from different walks of life have come forward and joined hands to work together towards developing state of the art technologies for the management and sustainable development of Dal Lake. In pursuance of this goal a scientific meet would be conducted at University of Kashmir on 30-11-2013 which will be attended by the experts from various research organizations, officials of Ministries, GoI, besides representation from the local administration. "It is expected that the outcome of the deliberations, discussions and exchange of ideas would be of immense use for better management of Dal Lake and its catchment", a KU officia said. He said that the said meet is to be organized by the Centre of Research and Development (CORD), University of Kashmir, Indian Phycological Society, New Delhi, and Lakes and Waterways Development Authority, J&K Govt," said Dr Arshid Jehangir Organizing Secretary of the scientific meet. |
