| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 12 animals rescued | | |

BISHNAH , Nov 29: Continuing its drive to check bovine smuggling, Police seized a truck and rescued 12 animals while a manhunt is on ti nab the absconding bovine smuggler during a naka at Blowal Bridge at Bari Brahamna area falling under jurisdiction Police station Bari Brahmana.
As per sources, following a specific tip off police laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing regd no: PB06F-7581 which was on its way to Jammu. However on seeing police the bovine smuggler abandoned the truck and fled from the spot, police sources said. They said that during the search of abandoned vehicle police recovered 12 animals loaded in the truck. Police has seized the truck and registered a case under appropriate sections while further investigations are on.
