RAJOURI, Nov 29: President JKPCC and former Union Minister Saifuddin Soz-MP has said that Congress has emerged strong unifying and secular force in all three regions of the State and it alone can better serve the interest of all sections of the society and lead the state to the path of peace, progress and prosperity. Addressing largely attended Congress rallies at Rajouri and Mendhar today Prof. Soz appealed to the people of twin border districts to further strength Congress party for a better future of J&K State. He said that Congress party is the only secular force acceptable in all three regions and has emerged strong because of people's support to its policies and programmes and it will lead the State to peace, progress and prosperity. He said that Congress led UPA Government headed by Manmohan Singh has taken keen interest for opening new projects by liberal funding for several schemes as a wealth for development activities. Referring to Rajouri-Poonch, he praised the commitment to secularism, which wore the brunt of three wars of Pakistan and proxy war but never allowed the inimical forces from outside or inside to succeed in their designs and maintained religious harmony and secular traditions despite of several odds. He said secularism is the strength of our nation which needs to be further strengthened by strengthening Congress party. He said that he is aware of the difficulties of twin districts that lack adequate opportunities in various fronts' especially economic, development and employment opportunities. However, he said Rahul Gandhi is taking personal interest in the affairs of the youth and welfare of people of State; as a result Jammu-Poonch railway project is at the final stage of sanction and take up shortly. He reminded that opening of Mugal road is also the result of liberal funding by the UPA Govt. and it will open new opportunities of tourism and employment. Prominent among those who attended meeting at Rajouri were Abdul Majid Wani-Minister for R&B, Mohammad Sharief Naiz-Deputy CLP leader, Shabir Ahmed Khan-Minister of State for Health, General Secretary & spokesperson Ravinder Sharma-MLC, Puran Singh-Ex-Minister, Shiv Kumar Sharma(INTUC), Manmohan Singh,Tassaduq Hussain , Vinod Mahajan, Babu Ram Sharma, Com. Bhola Ram, Neeraj Gupta, Nirdosh Sharma, Abid Kashmiri Masood, Lovely Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma (Panda), Harbans Lal Bakshi and others. At Mendhar several local leaders Ch. Zaffarullah, S. Rajinder Singh Kaka, Ch. Majid Khan, Murtaza Khan, Zulafkar Ali Mumtaj, Mrs. Praveen Chouhan, and Azar Sharzi highlighted local problems. Several leaders of social organizations of the area also joined Congress party who were welcomed by PCC President.
