They are likely to launch agitation if the government does not pay heed. Those likely to face the brunt include ERA and PMGSY. While speaking to mediapersons, Sarpanch Panchayat Duggan Des Raj and Subash Singh, Mohammad Sadeeq, Angrez Singh, Gul Mohammad, Sudesh Kumar, Suraj Sharma, Dalip Sharma, Ravi Kumar and Joginder Koshal today alleged that ERA which took up construction of 6 kilometre stretch from Bani to Chalog is yet to complete the same. ERA's defective and unplanned works caused so many damages to the road due to which further works from Chalog to Duggan have got badly affected. Failure of the authorities to complete Bani-Duggan road in the remote Bani Tehsil of Kathua district reflects their causal approach towards development of underdeveloped regions of the state. They said that condition of road cannot be explained in words. Road has been turned into a khud as there are big stones and boulders lying on this road and there is dust everywhere but poor public have no option but to use this road as there is no alternative road available to them and the dust is causing heavy toll on the health of general public especially small children who are suffering from lungs, throat and respiratory problems. Construction of the seven-km-long road was started near about 15 years ago with much publicity and it was announced that the project would be completed in two years and a considerable number of years have passed, but there is nothing have been done so far and people are forced to face the hardships they added.
