| Poor implementation of ICDS reported in Kathua | | | Early Times Report
BANI, Nov 29: High level insensitivity and negligence of the state government and district administration of Kathua led to the poor implementation of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) across the far-flung area of Bani tehsil of district Kathua. This can be gauged from the fact that four Anganwari centers in Bani block are non-functional and even some of them have been locked and nobody knows whereabouts the ration which is meant to supply in these centers since last more than one years is reported by the locals. The two Anganwari Centers located in villages Shalla and Kolga of Panchayat Rolka and other two Anganwari Centers in villages Salli and Machua of Panchayat Chandal all these four are out of proper operation and taken being as closed in most of time due to which the huge loss which reveals some doubtful scandalous practices of the CDPO Bani said locals to the team of Early Times. Sarpanch Brij Lal of Panchayat Chandal said that he have been visiting in villages Machua and Salli for the last three years but have never seen and found the AnganwariCenters in these villages operational. While other side the locals including Naib Sarpanch of Panchayat lodged his strong resentment over the ill functioning of Anganwari Centers located in villages Shalla and Kolga of Panchayat Rolkaand and said that these centers open only for two days in a week on Sunday and Tuesday and remaining days are found closed. They also urged the district administration to conduct the investigation of the severe closing and nonfunctioning of said Anganwari centers.
