| Intrusion bids lake place ahead of Parl' polls in Poonch, Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Dec 2: Amid claims of presence of over 200 militants near Line of Control, as stated by LT Gen DS Hooda GoC, White Knight Corps, there are apprehension that some major infiltration bids may take place during next few months especially before the Parliamentary polls. Sources within intelligence agencies claimed that there will be desperate attempt to push the armed militants into Indian territory as all earlier such attempts have been successfully foiled by alert Indian troops, but the ISI agents and other terror mentors have deployed their sources /Over Ground Workers (OGWs) to find isolated places where the presence of Indian forces is thin which may make help them (armed militants) to sneak into this side. Lt General DS Hooda, General Officer Commanding (GoC), 16 Corps on the side lines of a function held recently at Poonch while interacting with the media persons have shared the information that over 200 terrorists waiting for their turn to enter the Indian side to disturb the peace and normalcy in the region. He also said that about all the training camps have been re-activiated while about 25 training camps are situated very close to Line of Control (LoC). In a similar attempt in recent past three armed militants who almost have managed to reach one forward Indian post in Balakot sector manned by JAT regiment, succeeded in lobbing a grenade at the post which itself makes it evident that ISI and terror mentors/ outfits are ready to take any risk to push the trained militants. If recalled in this grenade attack Havildar Shiv Ram was injured who later was shifted to Military Hospital (MH) Rajouri. Though senior army official time and again claimed that there is nothing to worry about as we (army) have adequate well-equipped forces to defeat any challenge from across the border the incidents of January 8 and August 6 this year still is shocker when Bat Action Team (BAT) members slaughtered seven Indian soldiers. Unconfirmed low intensity skirmishes are still taking place on the LoC and it can't be denied that the recent lull on the border is an indication of some major incident from across the border. Pertinently in the month of May Lt Gen DS Hooda in a guarded manner had remarked 'terms such as militancy free and others should be used with little caution, as it is not as if the militants can't move from one place to other. |
