Jammu, Dec 2: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today visited Kishanganga Hydro Electric Project. He was welcomed by S Kalgaonkar, Executive Director, RO (Jammu), KD Sah, General Manager, Kishanganga HE Project and Khalid Umar, Chief Engineer (Civil), Kishanganga HE Project along with other senior officers of NHPC.
Omar Abdullah along with Nazir Ahmad Gurezi and Arun Mehta Principal Secretary (Power), visited dam site at Gurez and showed their keen interest in the construction activities.
They also inspected the ongoing works of cut-off-wall, concrete Faced Rock fill Dam, concrete lining work of Head Race Tunnel, intake and diversion tunnel.
KD Sah, General Manager, Kishanganga HE Project presented a brief note on construction activities of Kishanganga.
He also inaugurated the first pour of concreting of underground Power House 330 MW. Omar Abdullah also visited tunnel boring machine (TBM) and appreciated the progress of TBM in difficult Himalayan Zone. He expressed his pleasure and appreciation on his visit to the Kishanganga HE project. |
