SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) of government employees today expressed anguish over the non-disbursal of salaries to striking employees and threatened to renew its agitation against the state government with regard to their demands.Talking to Early Times, Pir Nisar Ahmad, Press Secretary, EJAC said the threat was issued during an extraordinary meeting of EJAC held at Jammu under the chairmanship of senior JCC leader and President EJAC, Abdul Qayoom Wani. Nisar said the participants of meeting expressed anguish over 'cruel' orders like Dies-non, suspension and no work no wages to striking employees. He said the meeting expressed serious concern over non-payment of salaries to employees for last three months. "The employees whose salaries have been kept pending will not be left in isolation and all the employees of state are at their back like a rock. The JCC will not compromise over the pending issues of the agreement and we are seriously thinking over a new strategy in getting the agreement implemented through democratic means," said Qayoom. The EJAC leader asked the officers of General Administration Department (GAD) to withdraw the 'draconian' orders passed for stopping the salaries of striking employees. He said the harsh orders passed by the GAD higher ups have made hundreds of families to suffer adding that the step is highly inhuman and undemocratic. Qayoom along with the other participants showed their concern over the 'non-seriousness' of state government towards the issues faced by employees. They renewed their commitment to offer sacrifices in getting the issues of employees resolved. Qayoom said that some people in the government are hell bent upon to add the fuel to fire instead of dousing it. During the meeting a resolution was passed in which Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah was appealed to intervene personally so that the agreement reached out by JCC leaders and state government is implemented in letter and spirit. The meeting said that since government higher ups have inked the pact it is obligatory on their part to get the agreement implemented. Besides Qayoom and Nisar, the EJAC leaders who were present in the meeting included Amrik Singh, Ganesh Khajuria, Mohammad Afzal Bhat, Bharat Bhushan Kotwal, Narinder Singh Jamwal, Nusrat Ahmed Beig, Darshan Singh, Rajesh Khajuria, Satish Dutta, Kuldeep Singh, Yograj Singh, O. P Katoch, Talib Hussain, Vinod, Jagdish Sharma, Showkat Ali Beig, Darshan Kumar, Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, Ashok Sharma, Raj Singh, Kuldeep Raj, Uttam Chand, Tariq Ahmed Lone, S. M Jamwal, Ghulam Nabi Gojri, Mohammad Ashraf, Javed Iqbal and Syed Manzoor Andrabi. |
