| Phonsa's book 'Dr Ambedkar and his associates' released | | | agencies NEW DELHI, Dec 15: Choudhary Chand Ram, former Union Minister and an associate of Dr B.R Ambedkar was conferred with annual Babu Parmanand National Award 2013 at 29th All India Dalit Writer's conference, here at Burari. During the event a well researched book 'Dr. Ambedkar and His Associates' authored by Er. H.R. Phonsa was also released. The book details lifesketches of over 61 dedicated associates of Dr. Ambedkar, who had lend support to the great leader in his struggle for Dalit emancipation in the country. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion include, Dr. S.P Sumnakashar International President BDSA and Smt. Sudesh Kumari President BDSA J&K, in presence of Dr. Mata Prasad former Governor Arunachal Pradesh, P.L.Punia Chairman SC and ST Commission GOI, Maharaja Sirohi Ragubir Singh ji besides Dr Rajinder Prashad, Babu's son and Er. H.R. Phonsa, a prominent J&K Dalit writer. The conference was attended by over 5000 delegates from all over Indian states and UT's. Delegations from USA, Nepal and some other countries also attended and received awards for their contribution to Dalit empowerment. All those addressed the gathering praised the services rendered by Babu Parmanand in different capacities. Ch.Chand Ram, a 92 years old Dalit leader of Haryana State appreciated the efforts of of BDSA for its contribution towards the dalit empowerment and exhorted the people to unite and raise their voice to attain their rightful place in the society. He also paid rich tributes to Babu Parmanand on this occasion and remembered his contributions to the Dalit cause in particular and society in general. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr Rattan Lal Sonagra of Pune, a reputed Hindi and Marathi Dalit writer. |
