| Two labourers electrocuted in Kishtwar | | | Early Times Repot Kishtwar, Dec 15 : Two labourers engaged by the Power Development Department PDD for repairing and maintenance of 11 KV transmission line at Berwar Kishtwar on the outskirt of Kishtwar town got electrocuted when NHPC restored the electricity in Kishtwar District one hour before the schedule shutdown of power on account of shifting of 132 KV Udhampur-Kishtwar transmission. As per the details available with "Early Times" two laborers namely Shakeel Ahmed (22) son of Aziz Mohammed, resident of Dadpath Kishtwar and Ghulam Hassan (32) son of Lassa Butt resident Keshwan Kishtwar was working on 11 KV transmission line at Berwar got electrocuted due to sudden charging of the transmission line as of which both the labourers received burn injuries. Eyewitness Raiz Ahmed said that the incident took place at around 1 PM when NHPC charge the line ahead of schedule power shut down. He said that he along with these two injured laborer was working on the 11 KV line and all of sudden both fall from the electric pole and fell unconscious. He said that he and other laborer present on spot raised hue and cry and shifted both the injured persons to District Hospital Kishtwar where both were presently undergoing treatment. After hearing about the incident, the senior officials of the department rush to hospital and also order an inquiry. |
