Sports Reporter JAMMU, Dec 15: Entered the field in the second half when the game was tied at 1-1, young Amanjot Singh helped J&K Power Development Corporation (JKPDC) take the much needed lead and then improved the score thereby making it 5-1 win against Young Rovers at GGM Science College ground, here today. The Nigerian attacker, Demmy was too good to handle in the forward line. Demmy netted two back to back goals in the 65th and 67th minute thus powered PDC take invincible lead. Amanjot, who netted his first goal in 55th minute, added another in the last 90th minute to help the side make it a comfortable 5-1 win on way to the final. Earlier, Young Rovers took the first lead netting the ball in 28th minute through Koushal. In fact, Amir committed a mistake of handball just near the goal area resulting into advantage in favour of Young Rovers, who succeeded in beating the guard at the net. However, the lead could not last long and in the 35th minute Navjeet made a deliberate foul when tacking an advancing opponent attacker inside the striking area. The penalty kick was awarded to PDC which was successfully converted into goal by Gulzar in the 35th minute. With today's win JKPDC has made it to the final. Now, they shall take on the winner of other semifinal, scheduled for tomorrow at 2.30 pm, between two arch rivals and professional sides of J&K Bank and J&K Forests. |
