JAMMU, Dec 15: Jammu and Kashmir won four medals, including silver, in the 4th National Body Lifting Championship, organised by J&K Body Lifting Association at Shri Amarnath Yatri Bhawan, here today.
While Akshay Tikoo clichéd silver medal in 90 kg weight category, Puran Singh finished third to secure bronze in the same weight group. Sandep Kumar won another bronze in 80 kg while Vinay Sharma clinched bronze in above 100 kg weight category.
The competition held in different weight categories, including a couple of weight groups in women's section.
Earlier, the championship was declared open by president JKDF, Anil Gupta. The SSP Vigilance, MY Kachroo, Showkat Hussain Kazmi, Joint Controller, Legal Metrology Department, Amar Singh and Principal SRML Higher Secondary School, JS Manhas were special guests. Also present were president of International Body Lifting Federation, Dr Randhir Hastir, general secretary, Dr Raj Hastir and G L Sharma. |
