| Jammuites express satisfaction over working style of Kiran Watal | | | Bivek Mathur
Jammu, Dec 18 : The new Municipal Commissioner, Kiran Watal has become an icon figure for Jammuites especially for his role with continuing efforts to check the adulteration and anti-encroachment drives due to his transparent working style.
Some described him as an honest officer, whereas others tagged him as a straight forward officer for his on the spot action taking style against the defaulters.
Om Parkash, a resident of Chand Nagar said that after Kiran Watal's taking over as Municipal Commissioner, the Jammu city is getting a new look due to his efforts to free the encroached land from the clutches of some influential peoples of Jammu.
" Watal has served this department as Joint Commissioner earlier. So he knows much about the functioning of the department and hence nothing is insuperable for the officer to retrieve other encroached portions of the city", said Om Parkash.
"I think there are number of challenges for the officer like waste management, providing better drainage system to the city, but the speed and competency of the officer cannot be challenged and he will do all the needful", said Surender Pal, a resident of Tallab Tillo Jammu.
Raj Kumar, a Janipur based shopkeeper said that clearance of nullah's to avoid water-logging in the city with providing better bus stops facility in Jammu like other cities of the country is something which we are expecting from the Commissioner in future and we are hopeful of immediate addressing of these issues soon.
"One cannot ignore the little jewel in the Jammu Municipal Commissioner office-'Vinood Sharma', who is the main weapon of this officer as in the recent past, encroachers and defaulters are feared of any wrong doing due swift action taking capability of this officer", said Raj Kumar.
