| United Forum of bank unions observes strike | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 18 : A day long nationwide strike was observed today in the entire banking industry on the call of United Forum of Bank Unions comprising of all the nine trade unions in the banking industry.
The main demands of the bank employees include immediate wage revision that has fallen due on 1-11-2012 and to stop banking reforms.
To press for their demands, the unions are agitating for the last more than one year but both the Central Govt/Finance Ministry and Indian Banks Association are delaying on one pretext or the other.
This was stated by Comrade VK Dutta, General Secretary, PNB Officers Association (AIBOA) and who happens to be Assistant General Secretary All India PNB Officers Federation. Dutta appealed to the employees to remain prepared for a long battle ahead as the government is not showing any positivity for our just demands. |
