Kathua, Dec 19: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Kathua today held literacy campaign at Nagri. According to press release, one day Financial Inclusion and Literacy campaign was organised at Govt. Higher Secondary School at Nagri in Kathua district by to sensitize and create awareness among school children about Financial Literacy and Inclusion campaign. Aman Kalsotra, DDM, NABARD, Kathua, Bodhraj Verma, Deputy Registrar, Cooperatives (Retd.), Ajit Singh Samyal, Branch Head, J&K Bank, Nagri, Ishwer Jalmeria, Principal, GHSS, Nagri Parole, teachers and student of GHSS, Nagri were present on the occasion. On the occasion, DDM, NABARD informed them about the initiatives undertaken under financial inclusion by NABARD. Financial inclusion means, access at a reasonable cost of all households and enterprises to the range of financial services for which they are "bankable," including savings, credit, leasing and factoring, mortgages, insurance, pensions, payments and local & international transfers. "The objective of FI is to mop up micro-deposits, to provide affordable credit, to provide micro-insurance covering not only life & death; but also crops, assets & accidents, to provide safe money transfers, to provide financial advise and counseling and to provide add-on services", he said. He asked all the students to open account with the bank in their area and take benefits from banks viz. education loans, opening of saving accounts, deposits, DRI, insurance etc. A quiz completion was held on the occasion and prizes were distributed on the occasion. |
