| Anantnag Unani hospital sealed again for selling expired medicines | | | Saahil Suhail Anantnag, Dec 19: Authorities in South Kashmir's Anantnag district today sealed Unani and panchkarma hospital yet again after they found expired medicines in the hospital. Reports said that Sajad Ahmad resident of Bangidar Anantnag had admitted his daughter in the said hospital for treatment where he was given expired medicine (Septilin batch No H701003e) from the counter of the hospital. After checking expiry date of the medicine, Sajad found it expired and lodged a complaint in Tehsil Office Anantnag. Taking swift Action, the Tehsildar Anantnag Muzaffer Ahmad along with a team raided the hospital found all the medicine available expired. "During the raid we found complaint correct and seized all the expired medicine from the hospital and later sealed the hospital as well. A doctor identified as Zahoor Ahmad Balla has been taken into custody," the Tehsildar told early times; adding further investigation has been initiated by the administration. Pertinent to mention here that few months back, hospital was sealed by the administration for the same reason while as it was also established that the medicos of the hospital were not prescribing ISM medicine for the patients. |
