JAMMU, Dec 19: The Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora today asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) authorities to explore the possibilities for developing new colony for civic workers of the Corporation. Speaking at an impressive annual Christmas commemoration function organised by the Corporation employees to mark the birthday of Jesus Christ, Jora asked the Commissioner JMC, Kiran Wattal to identify suitable piece of land for developing another mini housing colony for the civic workers. He was responding to the demand raised by the employees on the occasion. Extending warm greetings to the people on Christmas, the Minister called for propagating the message of Jesus Christ to evolve a peaceful society where there was no hatred and lust and every citizen lives a free life without any exploitation or fear. The function marked the annual feature of JMC to begin Christmas celebrations falling on 25th December a few days in advance. Jora asked the employees of the JMC to work with added devotion and dedication to come up to the expectations of the people adding that it will be his endeavour to meet all the genuine demands of the employees of the corporation. On the occasion, students of St Peter School, B.C road Jammu presented enthralling Christmas Carole whereas the Santa Clause attired in traditional costumes welcomed the guests and participants, distributed sweets and danced to the tunes of Christmas clause. Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority, K L Khajuria, Head Priest of the Gandhi Nagar Church, Father Kuriakose, SSP North, Mughal, officers and employees of JMC were present on the occasion. |
