Jammu, Jan 31 : Public Health Engineering (PHE) Workers Welfare Association today announced to start week long 'Chain Hunger Strike from February 4, 2014.
Bakshi Singh, Spokesperson of the association said that they have been sitting on dharna since October 2013, demanding regularization of daily rated workers, clearance of backlog wages of workers for the last 22 months, regularly payment of wages, framing of recruitment policy and holding of DPC but the state government has not responded in a positive way.
He said that now that have left with no option other than to intensify the agitation in coming days and the association have decided to start week long 'Chain Hunger Strike from February 4, 2014 outside Chief Engineer Complex, BC Road, Jammu.
He also made an appeal to the entire PHE employees to support and participate in the forthcoming agitation to achieve the goal.
