| What will happen in Cabinet meeting today? | | Speculations Rife | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 31: Speculations are rife about tomorrow's Cabinet meeting. What will happen? The question haunts everybody ranging from the politician to the commoner. Pertinent to mention the Chief Minister has warned the Congress men to toe his line or the Government shall go. The State Cabinet will be meeting tomorrow with the Chief Minister in chair. He has already made clear that only creation of new administrative units will be discussed in the meeting. He has asked the Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) to submit its report during this Cabinet meeting and if the CSC fails to do that the Chief Minister is going to implement the Mushtaq Ganai committee report. But the question is that if the CSC submits its report to the State Cabinet and is totally against the Mushtaq Ganai committee report, what will Omar Abdullah do? The Congress members of CSC are of the opinion of recommending around 3000 new administrative units which will be equally distributed to both Kashmir and Jammu regions. But the NC wants to implement the Ganai committee report as it favours their political stronghold in Valley from where they get maximum seats. But Congress wants to end disparity so that they secure their seats in Jammu region. The Cabinet meeting tomorrow is going to be full of surprises and unexpected things. Either the matter will be put on back burner or Omar Abdullah will go for Ganai committee report. If Omar wins, there is threat to the Government and NC and Congress may have to part ways. |
