| Ex army man held with 6 kg charas at Jmu Rly Station | | | Et Report JAMMU, Jan 31: A joint team of Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) and General Railway Police (GRP) claimed to have arrested one narcotic smuggler hailing from Kashmir alongwith 6 kg of Charas here today during a raid conducted at Jammu Railway Station, sources said.Police sources said that the accused has been identified namely as Mohd Yousuf Ganaie an Ex serviceman (JKLI) s/o Ashan Ganai of Nowagam, Anantnag. "The narcotic substance is believed to be smuggle to Mumbai," sources added. They added that NCB Jammu developed reliable information about the smuggling of narcotics and accordingly, a team of NCB led by its director and assisted by GRP apprehended the accused at Railway Station Jammu. "During preliminary questioning the accused failed to give satisfactorily replies to joint team and then his luggage was subjected to scanning, during which 6 kg of Charas was recovered from his possession, sources said. They said the arrested person revealed that he had smuggled Charas from Anantnag district of Kashmir valley along with his associates and was planning to take it to Mumbai in a train for selling in drug market. The further interrogation was in progress in the custody of NCB and more arrests likely at hand. |
