| Police book nine persons in minor's kidnapping | | | RAJOURI: Thanamndi police has booked 9 persons on the complaint of a father alleging that they were involved in the kidnapping of his 15 years old girl on the intervening night of February 6 and 7. Those who were booked on a complaint lodged by Fareed Ahmed have been identified as Sahkeel Ahmed, Ishtiyaq, Shadab, Wajahid and Irfan all sons of late Salla Mohd, Safia Begam and Tazeem Akhter wife and daughter of Salla Mohd, Mohd Shakeel (uncle of Nasreen) and his wife Rabia Begam. All these persons were booked in FIR No 13/2014 at Thanamandi police station under sections 147/148/342/363/382 and 458 RPC on Friday. Sources said that Fareed Ahmed resident of village Bagla approached the police and lodged complaint against all these nine persons, who belong to the same village, alleging that his 15 years old daughter Nasreen was forcibly taken by these persons from his house. Acting on the complaint of Fareed, police swung into action and after hectic efforts recovered the girl from a forest in the vicinity of the village. The girl was produced before the magistrate today and according to reliable sources the girl said that she was not kidnapped by these 9 persons and had gone to the house of her uncle willingly. The court has handed over the girl to her uncle Mohd Shakeel who was also named in the FIR and directed the police to investigate the matter.Pertinent to mention here that according to reliable sources the girl has refused to go to her house as she has the apprehensions of forced marriage against her wish by her parents. Since the girl has not accused all the 9 persons in her alleged kidnapping , police didn't arrest them. |
