| Deep nexus exists between ministers, their personal staff | | Sexploitation | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Feb 8: Awami National Conference senior vice president, Muzafar Ahmed Shah today said that investigations into the alleged molestation case against the former Minister of State for Health should be carried out under the watchful eyes of Chief Justice of the State, as the people of this unfortunate State have lost faith in almost all the relevant investigating agencies existing in the state. In a statement, Shah said that both the Private Secretaries of the former health minister should be detained along with the minister concerned and their cell phones need to be confiscated for thorough examination. "This will lead to a faster conclusion and bring to light the truth behind this bizarre episode of the powerful misusing their positions behind the growing number of cases against women and the casual remarks by those in power that makes it worse." He said that it is being reported that a deep nexus exists within the corridors of power very ably assisted by personal staff members of various ministries who are deeply involved in exploitation of our womenfolk once it comes to employment and postings. A thorough probe is required into this immediately, he said. Shah further said that any delay in registering an FIR especially involving the high and mighty should invoke exemplary punishment and in this case the SHO concerned should be terminated from services. The Chief Minister being the minister in charge of Home Affairs owes an explanation to the people. "JKANC stands shoulder to shoulder with the victim and also the Doctors association in demanding exemplary punishment to those found guilty in this case and to find out the ways and means by which our womenfolk become safe from such incidents in future," he said. |
