| With people's support PDP is to bring positive change in J&K: Mufti | | | Early Times report
Jammu, Feb 8: Observing that peoples' urge for change is gaining momentum in J&K with every passing day, patron of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today sought support of people to establish a new system of justice and equality in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that with the support and cooperation of the people, PDP is committed to addressing aspirations and wishes of all sections of the society. Addressing a meeting of prominent citizens organised by party leader Hamid Choudhary in connection with the on going campaign for Lok Sabha elections, Mufti said that change is order of the day and need of the hour is to channelize energy of the people to bring positive change in J&K. "The coming Lok Sabha elections would be a preview of campaign launched by his party to change present system of corruption and mis-governance", PDP patron Mufti said while adding, "people of the State are looking towards PDP to get them rid from the present corrupt, incept and anti-people dispensation." "Urge for change among people across state is gaining momentum with every passing. The way PDP getting response of the people is a clear indication that there is strong wave for change in the State", he said and added that people are fed up with the mis-governance and rampant corruption in the state so they are waiting for an opportunity to give a befitting reply to this government. "PDP is seeking mandate to change destiny of the people of Jammu and Kashmir", he said and called upon the party workers to intensify the on-going campaign for change.Reiterating his resolve solve problems of all sections of the society Mufti reminded the gathering during its tenure the PDP led regime had proved its ability to change destiny of the common masses by treating all individual equally and by providing equal opportunities of development and growth to all sections of the society. He especially mentioned various developmental schemes started for the betterment of Gujjars and Bakerwals. He further added that PDP had scripted a new chapter of peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir and changed political discourse of the State through its visionary and pro-peace policies. "There was a sense of fear and insecurity among the people when PDP was formed", he recalled and added that through its pro-peace agenda PDP had not only created a sense of security among the people but also restored dignity of the common masses by pioneering and implementing peace and reconciliation policies. Senior party leaders Trilok Singh Bajwa, Yash Pal Sharma, Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan, MLA Mendhar, Hamid Choudhary, Ved Mahajan, Shanti Devi, Daman Bhasin, Hussain Ali Wafa, Ashok Jogi, Deepinder Kour, Surjeet Kour, Susheela Jamwal, Amreek Singh Reen and others also spoke on the occasion. |
