Vivekanand college organises Inter House Talent Hunt Competition

KATHUA, Feb 8 : Vivek-ananda College of Education organized an "Inter House Talent Hunt Competition" today in its campus to explore the hidden talent among its students, pursuing B.Ed course. According to press release the competition in five events that is Salad Cutting and Decoration, Mehandi Designing, Flower arrangement and Preparing. Programme was divided in two phases. In the 1st phase students participated enthusiastically in different events. It was a team of expert faculty that trained the students to participate in all these events. In the 2nd phase there was a cultural cum Prize Distribution function. Chief Guest of the programme was chairman of the College Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta.
Main items of the prog-ramme were welcome Qawali, Punjabi Dance, Duet dance, Himachali dance, Solo classical dance and Bhangra. Main attraction of the programme was play depicting the works done by Vivekananda for upliftment of Indian cultural and spiritual heritage. In her welcome address Principal of the College Dr. Anju Sharma said that there is talent in every person but there is need of a platform where he/she can get exposure & VCE provides time to time such platform to them. Addressing the audience Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta said that "Such events boost the confidence of the students and encourage them to come forward. The guidance of the teachers further sharpens their inborn talents. These progr-ammes are organised by the College from time to time in order to unravel the creative talent of the young students".
Congratulating the winners he said that "our students are multi-talented and chances are provided to them by the College for exhibiting their talents". Prizes were distributed to the winners of various events according to the Sequence. Vote of thanks was presented by Madhu Gupta senior lecturer of the College. Programme ended with singing of National Anthem.
