| Alleging conspiracy of Kashmiri leaders, supporters of ex minister 'Khan' protest | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Feb 8 : Coming to the support of Shabir Khan, former Health Minister who stepped down following sexual assault allegations, Congress activists and supporter of held massive protests at Manjakot and Thanamandi against the female doctor and all those including PDP and BJP maligning the image of their leader and alleged Kashmiri leadership was worried over the growing popularity of Shabir Khan and has hatched a conspiracy to obliterate his political career.
As per locals reports, a large number of locals and supporters of former Minister who hails from the Rajouri district staged protest at Manjakote-Rajouri and also demanded an impartial investigation in this matter so that the truth could be brought before the people of the State.
A similar protest was held at Thanamandi town and its adjoining villages where locals in massive number exhibited solidarity with former Health Minister Shabir Khan and alleged that the Kashmiri leadership has hatched a conspiracy as it failed to digest the growing popularity of Minister from Rajouri district. Protestors were demanding an impartial investigation in this matter. They also appealed to the Governor and Chief Minister to see the matter and order a detailed investigation in the allegations of molestation. The protesters also warned an agitation in Thanamandi and South Peer Panjal region.
Among those who addressed the protesters included Shakeel Ahmed, Javid Dar,ex-captain Mohd Salam, Munshi Khan Tahir Shaweal and others.
Meanwhile District Congress unit headed by Sain Abdul Rashid (officiating) on Friday has stated that the allegations of molestation leveled by a woman doctor against the Minister are politically motivated and frivolous aimed at to malign the image of a honest and dedicated Minister from Rajouri district.
Kamal Bakshi , district vice president (officiating) and other Congress leaders have demanded CBI inquiry into the allegations and said that the truth must be brought before the people of the State and assured full support to him .
At the other hand the opposition Bhartiya Janta Yuba Morcha activists lead by Tara Chand , state general secretary BJYM organized protest against the tainted Minister and also burnt his effigy infront of the Office of Tehsildar on late evening Friday. BJYM leaders were demanding immediate arrest of the Minister and demanded stringent action against him over the allegations of molestation. In a similar protest PDP leader Ch Kanwar and others demanded action against Shabir Khan, former Health Minister and demanded ex minister to be booked under law of the land.
