| Field day for burglars in Kishtwar, decamp with temple chest | | Steal BSNL wire from outside PS Kishtwar | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Feb 8: In a free for all situation, the unidentified burglars in Kishtwar District during the intervening night of February 7 and 8 struck in a Shiv Temple situated at Upper Poochal village some 4 kms from here and decamped with the temple chest. As per the details available with "Early Times", the unidentified burglars barged into the temple by opening the lock of its front door and decamped with the temple chest containing approximately Rs 30000 to Rs 40000 cash inside it. After hearing about the incident, Kishtwar police rushed to the spot and inspected the scene of crime. Police has though registered an FIR at police station Kishtwar, but no arrest has been made so far. Meanwhile, some unidentified buglers under the nose of Kishtwar police had stolen at least 50 meters of BSNL wire providing landline connection to Police Station Kishtwar, Dy. SP HQ Office, R & B Office and others. As per BSNL officials, the wire was stolen from main gate of R&B office situated in front of police station Kishtwar. BSNL officials said that similar theft of BSNL wires has also taken place in past from different parts of Kishtwar town and added that not a single person has been arrested so far. It is pertinent to mention that unidentified burglars have carried out theft at five different places including an unsuccessful attempt to rob ATM of State Bank of India at high security Semna colony, E Zone mobile shop situated only few hundred meters away from DC Office Kishtwar, robbed the shop of Javed Iqbal Tapal at Mughal Maidan Chatroo, beside today's theft at Shiva Temple. With a series of burglary incidents, the common man and the business community of Kishtwar District were in state of shock. They demanded immediate break on burglaries, beside early arrest of the persons involved in the theft cases. |
