| Following landslide acute shortage of essentialities hit Chatroo | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Feb 8: Acute shortage of essentialities hit Chatroo and other areas of Kishtwar District following snapping of road link from District headquarter. As per reports over one lakh souls were affected following the Kishtwar-Chatroo road link was snapped due to landslide at kilometer 9 near Bhandarkote Kishtwar January 26 while GREF authorities yet have failed to clear landslide even after two weeks. "A huge populace of approximately one lakh souls in areas of Chatroo like Kuriya, Thakrai, Keshwan and other adjoining areas of district Kishtwar, sources said further adding, "due to closure of the road, there is acute shortage of essentialities including LPG, ration, kerosene oil, beside most of the ration depots are running out of stocks in the area. Meanwhile in a press statement issued by youth Congress leader Shariq Saroori has urged up on the GREF authority and administration of Kishtwar district to clear the landslide. He stated that the people in far off areas have become prone to lots of problems due to prevailing cold and cold winter season. He urged up on the BRO/GREF authority to impress men and machinery to clear the landslide. Meanwhile youth Congress leader when raised the issue with senior BRO/GREF authorities telephonically they assured that they are looking the matter on priority basis. |
