| BSP hits nail on head, says vested interests responsible for mess in Kashmir | | Saving state from plunderers | | Rustam
JAMMU, Feb 8: Gone are the days when state Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president would speak the language of Kashmiri leaders, demand separate dispensation for the non-existent Chenab Valley and do all that he could to give a communal colour to everything in the state. The case in point is the present state Samajwadi Party (SP) chief. The today's state BSP is headed by Tulsi Dass Langeh who talks sense and speaks not only for the social group to which he belongs but also of other social groups, people of Jammu and Ladakh as a whole, people of the state as a whole and important political issues facing the state and the nation in Kashmir. Langeh is so forthright that he says things in unambiguous terms. On Friday, he rejected out-of-hand the oft-repeated suggestion of Kashmiri leadership that there exists problem in Kashmir and said there exists no such problem as Kashmir and that it is the Kashmiri leadership belonging to the NC, the Congress, the Hurriyat and so on which has created the problem in the Valley to deflect the people's attention away from the issues concerning general public, unemployment, corruption, high food prices, mal-governance and so on. He not only lambasted the Kashmiri leadership, but also questioned its "agents" based in Jammu who dance to its tunes and play anti-people and anti-democratic games. He said it is imperative on the part of the people to defeat this class of plunderers. It is pertinent to mention here that Langeh has been demanding abrogation of Article 370 and trifurcation of Jammu & Kashmir saying Article 370 is the root cause of all troubles in the state and trifurcation of the state would enable the people of Jammu and Ladakh to obtain their legitimate due share in the country's political, democratic and economic processes. He has been saying that the abrogation of Article 370 and trifurcation of the state are the needs of the people and exigencies of the time, asserting that these are the only courses left to defeat the regressive forces and empower the ignored and marginalized social groups, including SCs, STs, OBCs, refugees from West Pakistan and so on. The most significant aspect of the whole situation is that the party high command endorses his views on Jammu & Kashmir. |
