| NSF stages protest against Chief Postmaster General | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 27: Annoyed over the failure of Postal administration in Jammu and Kashmir in opening of Postal Training Centre, National Secular Forum (NSF) today held a protest demonstration in the Jammu University Campus today. The NSF activists under the leadership of President NSF, Sukhdev Singh shouted slogans against the Department of Posts and burnt the effigy of Chief Postmaster General, Jammu and Kashmir for not executing the decision of Central Government related to opening of Postal Training Centre in Jammu. Speaking on the occasion Sukhdev Singh said that since central government showing keen interest in improving the different services in Jammu and Kashmir but regretted that its officials are incompetent rather least bothered for the improvement of government infrastructure in the state. "Unemployment is the biggest challenge which Jammu and Kashmir is facing in the recent times. Presently our brothers and sisters whosoever got job in the Department of Posts is moving to Uttar Pradesh for training. It takes months together for them for their turn of training that delays their joining. Setting up of Postal Degree College not only improves the crippled postal network in J&K but also a platform for youth to learn the emerging trends in government sector" said Singh adding that there are only 9 PTCs across the country and J&K is lucky enough to get the PTC which will also benefit neighboring states of Himachal, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Rajasthan. He further threatened that NSF will ghreao the Chief Postmaster General and will not remain a mere spectator of the dilly dallying tactics of postal administration in capitalizing the opportunity provided the Central Government. |
