| AAP to take on Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 27: Aam Adami Party (AAP), which has been mocked by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has decided to field RTI activist Raja Muzaffar Bhat against Dr Farooq Abdullah from Srinagar constituency for the parliamentary election. The announcement was made today evening. Bhat, a Right to Information (RTI) activist has exposed many wrong doings by the Government and has made people aware of the RTI ACT and its usuage in Kashmir in particular and the State in general. Even though AAP candidate may not be politically strong in comparison to Farooq Abdullah, but the message has been sent that the party wants to root out corruption and will field candidates even in Kashmir. The Chief Minister while addressing a press conference in Jammu had said that if AAP dares to field candidate in Kashmir, they (NC) will send him packing. Responding to it, AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in an interview, had said these remarks by Omar Abdullah show that they consider AAP a political force and will field candidate there. It's then surely a worrying sign for Dr Abdullah, who had already been found involved in the cricketing scam. Dr Abdullah represents the face of NC, which faces allegations of corruption and against which court cases are pending. AAP has succeeded in changing public perception about politics and in Kashmir where politics is still rooted in system of patronage and power frills it's going to make things difficult for Dr Farooq. Intelligence and media reports already suggest that Farooq Abdullah is already on slippery wicket and PDP is on ascending course. It looks that mocking at AAP by Omar Abdullah may cost Dr Farooq dearly. The AAP founder Kejriwal has promised transfer of power projects from NHPC to the State if he comes to power. He has also expressed willingness to campaign against NC candidate Dr Farooq in Srinagar. "Arvind Kejriwal is himself coming to Kashmir for two days next month to campaign against Dr Farooq Abdullah and announce AAP election manifesto formally, "said Muzaffar. APP election manifesto, said Raja, shall be different as it (AAP) does not believe in dynasty rule. Pertinently Arvind Kejiriwal recently listed Farooq Abdullah among the most corrupt politicians of India at number 24 in the list issued for public awareness and announced that AAP will figure out a candidate form Kashmir as well to contest against NC patron to uproot dynasty politics and will stop people like Farooq Abdullah from entering in to parliament in future. |
