Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Feb 27: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) headed by Abdul Qayoom Wani has accused the state government of being rigid vis-à-vis the demands of the government employees.
In a statement, Press Secretary EJAC-Q, Pir Nisar Ahmad said that an emergency meeting of EJAC-Q was held in which it was observed that the state government has not given any positive response to the demands of government employees. This he said is despite the fact that the employees called off their two day strike scheduled for February 14 and 15.
"It was regretted that state government is on the track of politicizing the sincerity and good intentions of state employees and is once again going to backtrack from its own agreement. The members expressed their surprise as to why the recently promises by Chief Minister and assurances given by sub-cabinet members did not show any positive results in respect of executing the genuine demands of employees and withdrawal of draconian laws like ESMO/DIES-NON/ No work-No pay etc," said Nisar while quoting Qayoom.
Nisar said that delaying tactics and anti-employee policy will prove futile for the state government if the issues like regularization of all daily wagers/casual labourers/contractuals, increase in the retirement age, removal of pay anomalies, inclusion of five years in the service of RET's, their transfer policy, inclusion of 16 years in the service of migrant substitute teachers/ad-hoc teachers, pending issues of public sector, urban local bodies, Aanganwadi workers and helpers are not solved.
Besides Qayoom and Nisar the meeting among others was attended by Amrik Singh, Dr. Manzoor Ahmad, Ganesh Khajuria, Narendra Singh Jamwal, Jagdish Sharma, B B Kotwal, Yograj, Rajendra Gupta, Satish Dutta, Talib Hussain, Darshan Kumar, Jamayat Ali and Uttam Chand.
