Cong high command reprimands Lal Singh
3/12/2014 11:07:39 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 12: Congress MP Lal Singh , who is likely to be replaced by Azad, has been reprimand by the high command for expressing dissent over fielding former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad from the Uudhampur constituency.
The party has decided to replace Lal Singh on a host of factors which collectively suggest possible defeat of the Congress party from this seat.
The party after much deliberations and calculations decide to zero-in on Azad, who had also reluctantly agreed to the decision to the party.
"Lal Singh had not only did damage to him but has in process also damaged the prospects of the party by showing resentment over the candidature of Azad. Lal Singh owes his political existence as of now to Azad and he has forgotten it also," said a Cong leader.
Lal Singh who along with his wife had forfeited his security in the last Assembly election knows it will be end of political road for him if he is not given party ticket.
There is very little chance Lal Singh coming back elected from the Kathua district. It's for this reason that he had gone to the Delhi to meet party high command over the reports that he will be replaced.
"Lal Singh had acted in desperation but he had done more damage to him than any good," said a Cong Minister.
Cong knows that only person who can win the seat from the Doda is Azad and reverse hold equally true for Lal Singh.
Sources said the party had made up its mind on Azad about three-months back and had communicated it to Singh in advance also.
Sources said that party is angry over the fact that despite being kept in loop over the move of the party to replace him, he has tried to be defiant.
