Jammu, Mar 12: Resentment among sympathizers of Dr Nirmal Singh after denial of Lok Sabha candidature from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency continues to simmer with each passing day and to raise their voice against party's decision a delegation of 150 people visited national capital and took up the matter with former National President BJP Nitin Gadkari, sources said. As per sources, the deputation apprised the former National President BJP Nitin Gadkari about the resentment brewing among party cadre and sought his intervention to take up the issue with party high command as post nominations the situation has become fluid for the party. "The deputation, as per reliable sources comprised of District Presidents, District Secretaries, Mandal Prabharis of three districts of Kathua, Udhampur and Doda and had threadbare discussion with Ram Lal, National Organizing Secretary, Nitin Gadkari, Party's former National President and had intimated them about the resentment prevailing in the masses after party President Rajnath Singh denies mandate to Dr Nirmal Singh. A young BJP leader, who was part of the deputation on promised anonymity, said that deputation apprised Mr Gadkari that the post-ticket announcement/nomination scenario in Jammu and Kashmir may have adverse impact on the 272 plus campaign of its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. He also said, "After giving a keen ear to deputation, he (Mr Gadkari) assured the deputation that the issue will be highlighted with the party President to further find out a strategy." Pertinently party has already released two lists of candidates and it is expected that the third list will be released on March 13 (tomorrow) and the members of the deputation who had gone for the meeting with the national delegates are anticipating the party may announce something in favour of Dr Nirmal Singh tomorrow. Sources further said that the 150 member delegation was led by Vijay Thakur, President District Ramban. Other prominent members who were the part of the deputation included Advocate Amit from Ramnagar who according to sources, may get the mandate for the MLA seat from Ramnagar constituency, Neeraj Sharma, Bhartiya Janta Party Yuva Morcha leader from Ramnagar, Sham Lal, Mangal Singh from Ramban and Kewal Sharma from Udhampur. |
