| AAP criticizes political parties for ignoring birth, martyrdom days of national heroes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 23: While paying his tributes to great national heroes of Indian independence struggle i.e. Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev today on their martyrdom day, Deep Singh, the National Council and founder member of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly criticized the traditional political parties of India for being responsible for missing of state level functions on the birthdays or martyrdom days of national heroes even after 66 years of independence. Congress & BJP the main political parties of country are the main culprits for such unfortunate development, he added.
One feels shame to observe the celebration activities of some small groups of civil society in shape of quite cornered functions in cities and towns on birthdays or martyrdom days of national heroes since long and at the same time one feels suspicious about even continuity of such small level celebrations due to lack of interest among the youth in particular, Deep Singh further observed. Such functions are to be celebrated by the district administrations with an active involvement of civil society, he added. Ruling political parties are directly responsible for this ongoing shameful trend, he further added. Congress party after taking over under the leadership of Jawahar Lal Nehru in 1947 just honored Mahatma Gandhi Ji nationwide for its suitability, Deep Singh alleged.Ruling parties at central level even deliberately tried to keep the nation unaware of detailed information about Azad Hind Fouj, its remarkable contribution under the leadership of Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose, Deep Singh alleged.
State governments badly failed to perform their prime task of effectively including the detail information of freedom fighters and national heroes in academic curriculum of students, Mr. Singh further alleged. State governments would have highlighted the birthdays and martyrdom days of national heroes in yearly printed government calendars for the information of masses, Deep Singh observed.
We shall try our best to apprise the Aam Aadmi Party leadership for an enthusiastic beginning towards remembrance of our freedom fighters and national heroes among Indian particularly the youth for restoration of much needed patriotic values, Deep Singh concluded. |
