| Harassment of woman officer Rajni Sehgal: Where is Prof Bhim Singh? | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 23: State Government under the leadership of young Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is all out to harass former Superintendent of Kot Bhalwal Jail Rajni Seghal on the issue of death of a dreaded Pakistani prisoner but neither women organisations nor human right activities have taken up this issue.
Women organisations have maintained a criminal silence on the issue of harassment of the female officers who is facing onslaught of the government without any fault of her. For the last 10 months, Rajni Sehgal has faced three inquiries but nothing has been proved which establish that she was involved in the killing of Pakistan prisoner but state government continue to harass her.
Ironically, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party supremo Prof Bhim Singh, who is always in the forefront of fighting cases of the victims of government, has also not issued any statement against state government.
Prof Bhim Singh is known for fighting legal battle in such cases to expose the State Government but silence on this case raised many eye-brows. JKNPP supremo always ready to fight cases of those Pakistani prisoners who have completed their term in the Indian jails but he should also come forward to provide legal help to the female officer who has been facing injustice at the hands of those who at the helm of the affairs. Prof Bhim Singh always talked about women power but in this case he has yet not taken any step.
Same is the situation of women organisations which are always publicity hungry but in this case they failed to provide moral support to a lady officer who has been targeted without any reason. |
