Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 23: Making a fervent appeal to Congress workers for adopting result oriented strategy in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, former MLA and General Secretary, Pradesh Congress Committee, J&K, Thakur Balwan Singh today said that grass root workers should work in the direction to defeat racist and communal forces especially the BJP, in the forthcoming parliamentary elections paving the way for victory of visionary Congress candidate, Madan Lal Sharma.Balwan was addressing a meeting of Congress workers of Marh Assembly Constituency at Rehari, here today. Madan Lal Sharma, the candidate for Jammu-Poonch constituency was also present in the meeting. About 1200 staunch supporters of the party attended the meeting. Seeking support from the people, Madan lal Sharma said that the people of the state have never supported the communal and racist forces in the past and will surely reject them in the LS Polls. He applauded the dynamism exhibited by Thakur Balwan Singh in projecting Congress Party's achievements among people of the state especially in Marh block. Later, several prominent workers and leaders from Marh including Ram Dass (Ex-Head Master), Charanjeet Singh(Ex-ZEO), Captain Bal Krishan, Captain Rattan Singh, Thakur Jankar Singh, Chairman, Panchayat, Channu Chak , Natha Ram, Satpal, Thoru Ram Chaman Lal( Naib-Sarpanch), Captain Puran Singh, Captain Pritam Singh, Krishan Chand and Raghubir Singh joined the Congress Party. |
