Martyrs day observed across state

Jammu, Mar 23: Martyrs Day was today observed widely here in the memory of martyrs including Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Rajguru, Ashfaqullah Khan and others who laid their lives for the independence of India and against British rule. Naujawan Sabha Bishnah paid rich tributes to the martyrs (Saheed Bhagat Singh Rajguru and Sukhdev) by organizing an impressive function on the occasion of Martyrdom Day (23rd March) at Kabir Mandir Bishnah. Roop Lal Makhnotra ,a social activist presided over the function and MLA Bishnah was the chief guest on the occasion. Programme included floral tributes to the martyrs ,silent prayer, lecturers by various prominent persons of the area and patriotic poem recitations by local artists. Prem Sadotra a local volunteer who also happens to be the Joint Secretary of the Bar Council of Jammu and Kashmir High Court , Presented vote of thanks. Duggar Pradesh Party organized a meeting to commemorate Martyrs day today at its HQ and paid rich tributes to S.BHAGAT SINGH, RAJ GURU,& SUKHDEV on their martyrdom on this day on 1931,23rd March, when British regime hangs them a n d those sacrifices make India independent republic. While paying tributes Uday Chand, President, said the British hangs them once in 1931 and showed their brutality but the own rulers hanging them on every minute since 1947 by making this nation a hell because of rampant corruption from top to bottom, unchecked prices rise, faulty electoral system, continuously and deliberately running British laws which make total collapse of judicial system. National Students' Union of India (NSUI) paid homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev on their Martyr's day at Jammu University. The Shardhanjali was organized by Nitin Bakhshi, President of NSUI Jammu University. Fairoz Khan, National Secretary, NSUI was the chief guest on the occasion while Neeraj Kundan, State president of NSUI was guest of honour and Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, Dean Student Welfare, JU was special guest on the occasion. Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation and Jewel Bazar Shopkeepers association organised a function to pay tributes to the great martyrs of Indian freedom struggle Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh ,Rajguru and Sukhdev . People from all walks of the life from J&K paid tributes to the Martyrs. A Free ayurvedic Medical camp on the occasion of Martyrs day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat singh ,Rajguru and Sukhdev at Shaheed Bhagat singh chowk Jammu in collaboration with Directorate of Indian systems of Medicine J&K Jammu was also organised and patients suffering from diseases related to Abdomen, Arthritis, Metabolic disorders , Female disorders and other life style diseases were treated during the camp and free medicines were disbursed amoung the hundreds of patients.
