4/12/2014 11:06:41 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 12: Ahead of forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Kashmir, noted militant factions and separatist camps after failing to stop people from joining political rallies have started a process of pasting 'threatening posters' across Kashmir to create an environment terror to stop people from campaigning for their candidates and costing votes. According to reports received not only threatening posters of noted militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) during the wee hours on daily basis are appearing in the areas of Srinagar, North and south Kashmir Parliamentary constituencies warning people to boycott forthcoming Lok Sabha elections or face consequences, but also pro Pakistan separatist camp led by Ali shah Geelani (G) is actively involved in pasting untitled threatening posters in parts of Kashmir too and everything according to the reports received is going unchecked from security agencies.
Pertinently on Friday in Srinagar despite posting of back to back checking teams on entry points of Srinagar District 'election boycott' posters of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba appeared at Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarter in Srinagar too after which BJP office bearers lodged a formal complaint to the Election Commission of the country in which BJP office bearers mentioned that State has failed to provide sufficient security at its Raj Bagh headquarters as after appearance of threatening posters BJP party cadre is feeling insecure in the campus.
It is pertinent to mention here that as the security agencies in Kashmir division are yet to ponder strictly on the issue and arrest people pasting threatening posters unchallenged in parts of Kashmir, people associated with mainstream political parties fear that incase the process is not checked by security agencies in coming days it can prove disastrous for the ongoing political process of Kashmir and added that not common people will think thousand time before casting their votes, but also people working as second and third grade workers of political parties without any security cover up will have to proceed ahead under such circumstances.
