Baramulla, Apr 12: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla issued parliamentary election notification for North Kashmir's Baramulla constituency which is scheduled to be held on May 7. Accompanied by ADC Baramulla Mukhtar-Ul-Aziz, Assistant Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Nasir Ahmad Naqash, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Hamidullha Mir and DIG North Kashmir Ghulam Hassan Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone who is also a Returning Officer (RO) for 1- Baramulla Parliamentary constituency, briefed the media persons told that as per the parliamentary poll exercise, 1091 polling stations have been identified as hyper sensitive and 445 as sensitive. The parliamentary constituency consists of fifteen assembly segments Karnah, Kupwara, Lolab, Handwara, Langate, Uri, Rafiabad, Sopore, Gurez, Bandipora, Sonawari, Sangrama, Baramulla, Gulmarag, and Pattan. Returning officer Farooq Ahmad Lone said, "Expenditure monitoring cell with assistant expenditure observers, video surveillance teams, video viewing teams, accounting teams, flying squads, static surveillance teams have been constituted in all three districts of the parliamentary constituency". However he said there would be around 1151744 Lakh voters who are franchising their votes across Baramulla Parliamentary constituency which includes 606506 males and 545219 female electors and other 19. He said," "As per the Election Commission of India notification nomination papers of candidates may be delivered by a candidate or by any of his proposers to the returning office or to the specified Assistant Returning Officer at DC Office complex Baramulla from 12-04-2014 between 11 am to 3pm. The scrutiny of nominations will be done on April 21 and date of withdrawal of nomination has been fixed on April 23 and the polling will take place on May 7, between 0700hrs to 1700 hrs. He said, Minimum Basic Facilities (MBF) is being ensured at all the polling stations which includes drinking water, toilets, and ramps. Meanwhile DIG North Kashmir Ghulam Hassan Bhat said, "The deployment of the security forces has been properly planned as per the requirement to maintain law and order and to ensure free and fair elections and shall be in place as per the situations and guidelines". |
