| Dr Singh slams Justice Gandhi Commission preliminary investigation report | | BJP will probe Kishtwar riots | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Apr 12: BJP candidate for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency Dr Jitendra Singh in a impressive rally at Kishtwar said that BJP soon after taking over reign of the government will order an impartial probe into the Kishtwar riots of August 9 last year and slammed Justice R C Gandhi Commission preliminary investigation report in which MoS for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo was given clean chit.
Darakhshan Andrabi, President, Socialist Democratic Party also accompanied Dr Jitendra Singh and appealed to people including Muslims and Hindus, to vote for Dr Jitendra Singh whose honesty and social commitment far exceeded any other candidate in the fray.
While addressing the gathering, BJP's contesting candidate from Udhampur-Doda-Kathua, Dr Singh said that the Justice RC Gandhi Commission of Inquiry constituted by the Congress-National Conference coalition government was a mere sham motivated by the design to rehabilitate the coalition Minister who had been implicated for instigating communal attack on minority community. "Till date, neither the losses incurred by the business community have been compensated nor the culprits responsible for riots brought to the book" Dr Singh alleged. He said that the insensitivity and indifference shown by the Congress to the unbridled dance of death in Kishtwar evidently proved that the party was hand in glove with the National Conference in communalizing the situation for vote bank politics and added that BJP is committed to safeguard the interest of minorities. Referring to VDC's and SPO's, Dr Singh said that these personnel had offered their services to contain militancy in the most crucial times and therefore it was our duty to ensure their proper employment.
He said that the BJP government will also ensure equitable share for Kishtwar from various hydro-electric projects set up here. Former IGP Farooq Khan also address the gathering and said that Congress is misleading people by saying that it was against any particular community and added that BJP is the only truly secular party today. Senior BJP leader Sunil Sharma said that people of Kishtwar have made up their mind to vote for BJP. He accused the National Conference and Congress leaders for having connived to instigate the Kishtwar riots in August last. BJP District President Kishtwar Rajendra Sen, Capt (Retd) Hukam Chand, Somraj Khajuria, Yudhvir Sethi and Ravinder Raina also addressed the rally. |
