Jammu, Apr 12: Council for Civil Liberties chairman and veteran socialist Inder Mohinder Tar Singh once again strongly raised the long pending demand of handing over the infamous murder case of an IAS aspirant Akshay Verma to CBI. He apprised that parents of Akshay Verma could not make it due to ill health. Large number of common men and women joined the protest demonstration to handover the said case to CBI. While addressing the media persons Tar Singh said that we fail to understand that why said case is not being handed over to CBI and even the SIT of J&K Police for fair and transparent investigation of the case is not formed so far. We have been demanding that the case should be handed over to CBI or SIT of J&K Police should be formed for fair, impartial neutral and transparent probe but the same is being delayed without any rhyme and reason which reminds us of "justice delayed is justice denied." We urge upon Sajad Kichloo ,Home Minister, J&K to issue orders to reopen the case and the concerned ones to order an immediate CBI probe or formation of SIT of J&K Police (not GRP'S SIT) for fair and transparent probe concluded Tar Singh. Prominent among others present were Kanta Devi, Satpal Saini (EPTWS,) Jaspaul Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Gh. Doyee, Ravinder Mishra, Manjit Singh Tittu, Mohd Latief and Ashok Datta (all social activists) etc. |
