Kishtwar, May 7: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth President Kishtwar Mohammad Umar Malik today said that local National Conference leadership is responsible for the sufferings and miseries of common people of Kishtwar District. In a press statement issued here today, Umar Malik while reacting to the agitation launched by the youths of Kishtwar along with local Sarpanch against GREF authorities demanding immediate black topping of the road from Malipath to Berwar via Kuleed chowk said that agencies like GREF and JP flourished under the patronage of local National Conference leadership. He said that these agencies instead of delivering publically provide direct benefits to NC backed contractors and their agents. Malik while lauding the agitation against GREF said that time has come for the people of Kishtwar District to choose between the development and a particular family so as to secure the future of next generations of Kishtwar District. He said that local MLA who is minister in present coalition government has failed to deliver on every front. "There is no drinking water available to people, no jobs for locals in power projects, worst condition of roads, no proper sanitation facility in municipal areas, embezzlement in MGNREGA works and distribution of job cards, non availability of rations in government deports--- in short term the corruption is at rampant within the system during present leadership" said Umar Malik. He said that local MLA has turned blind eye towards public suffering and is busy with some close associates to enjoy in corridors of power. He said that instead of issuing press statement while sitting in his office, MLA Kishtwar must need to rush back to Kishtwar to address the issue. He said that time has come for the people to dethrone the present regime and pay way for new era of development. As a matter of solidarity, Umar Malik also sat in Dharna against GREF at Kuleed Chowk Kishtwar. |
