Jammu, May 7: In a tragic incident, one Haroon Rashid (21) son of Choudhary Abdul Rashid, Registrar in BGSB University ,drowns in a local rivulet at Muradpur here today.
According to police sources, the tragedy happened when a group of four youth including deceased went to Muradpur on an excursion and went to take bath in the local river to beat the heat. 'Suddenly Haroon was washed towards the deeper side by a strong wave of the water, sources said, adding, "though his friends raised an alarm but it was too late.'
"After receiving the information the local police rushed to the spot and started search operation and the divers fished out the body of deceased after hectic efforts, sources said
"The deceased was doing BE Tech in the same university, they added.
Meanwhile police after getting the postmortem upon body conducted and handed over the same to his family members for last rites. |
