Doda, May 11: District Police Doda today held public meeting to mitigate the problems being faced by the locals. According to press release, in the interaction the participants highlighted the issues relating to deteriorated road condition of NHIB, evils of child labour, frequent Green felling and smuggling of forest produce in Doda-Kishtwar belt, monopoly of SRTC bus conductors, illegal sale of kerosene oil and its use in commercial vehicles and smoking at Public places. However the participants appreciated the role of District Police Doda in conducting peaceful / incident free Parliamentary Election-2014, instant response in reopening of NHIB during recent landslides, proactive policing in combating drug menace, eve teasing and other social crimes. Besides this the role of Police was also appreciated for bridging the gap between Police and Public by organizing Civic Action Programmes (CAP) and in decreasing the rate of traffic accidents in Doda-Kishtwar belt by organizing the traffic seminars and identifying accident prone areas on NHIB. While concluding the interaction SP Doda MS Chouhan appreciated the role of Press/ Media Persons of District Doda in timely reporting/ highlighting issues concerning the general public which needed early administrative intervention. |
