JAMMU, May 11: Manandeep Singh and Ketan pair won the junior boys doubles title in the ongoing Ist Stag Jammu Open Table Tennis Championship, organised by Jammu Table Tennis Academy, here today.
In the final, played today, Manandeep and Ketan outplayed the duo of Ritvik and Asad 3-2. The score: 11-07, 09-11, 11-08, -6-11, 11-07.
In the meantime, Manandeep Singh and Vishal Ghai made it to the final of men's singles event. Earlier, in the semifinals, Manandeep outplayed Gurvinder Singh in straight sets of 11-09, 11-09, 11-08 while Vishal trounced Sandeep 3-1 (11-06, 13-11, 08-11, 11-09).
Earlier, today's junior boys doubles final and men's semifinals witnessed besides others by former state champion, Manmeet Kaur. As advised by the visiting guest, the management of the Academy has decided to hold competition in the veteran categories in near future so as to involve the old champions of the game.
Meanwhile, as per the organizers, the finals of sub-junior boys' singles and men's singles shall be played from 5 pm onwards, followed by the prize distribution function. |
