Jammu, May 18: Rattled by humiliating defeat in Lok Sabha elections less than six months before the Assembly polls, a bewildered Omar seems to be trying to throw away his cloak of arrogance and reach the masses for a introspection of his 5 years deeds as the chief minister of the state. In a bid to reach out to the people of the state he has shared his email ID seeking response from the people to make up for pitfalls ahead of Assembly elections. Omar Abdullah, who is also the working President of National Conference (NC), Twitted "[email protected] is my email. I'd like to hear from you as About the reasons for the enormous setback NC has faced in these elections." In his second tweet, Omar wrote, "I've started the process of introspection & am listening to voices within the party but I need to hear from people other than colleagues." This was followed by another tweet, "I want to learn, I need to learn. I'd like to try & make amends. I'll give it my best shot & I'd rather fail trying than not try at all." These tweets suggest that Omar is seriously introspecting what went wrong and where he and his party failed to deliver. "I think this attempt to connect with the people is too little too late" said Arun Bakshi, a businessman. "All these years, Omar and his ministers have been inaccessible, and their deeds and uttering have exuberated arrogance and conceit" he added. "With just a few months left, even if Omar is put wise by the people, he has hardly any time left to make the amends and win back the trust of the people that he has lost" said Vinod Nagpal, an employee in a bank. |
