| Can Omar resurrect NC through internet? | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 22: National Conference has criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for having learned lessons from the poll debacle. The party leadership had said Omar still feels that he can turn the tide by being active on internet, which it feels is only adding to the woes of the party. "Omar still hasn't given up his old habits of relying more on internet than being on the ground. This email ID which he has been advocating and advertising now, was in place for the last five-years. Why he didn't use it when people mailed complaints on this ID. It's again likely to boomerang for us," said a senior NC leader. Omar said that he has received many mails and is replying back and analyising them for the reasons of his defeat. "He is making a joke of himself and the party also. Why didn't he check the mail earlier and also why he is doing it now after the defeat," said another senior leader. The party leadership feels that even Rahul Gandhi is getting feedback from the party leadership and have started moving his constituency. Omar has still not gone to the people and has kept himself to the official residence. The senior party leader has confessed, though doesn't want to go on record about, that Omar is planting stories that he has offered to resign but the fact is he didn't utter a word about it and instead criticized the party leadership for not doing enough. "Omar and his advisors are planting stories that he has offered to resign. But the fact is these are being deliberately planted to project and boost his image as a leader who leads from the front which is exactly opposite of what he is doing now," said another senior leader. The senior leadership of the party had communicated to the CM that unless radical shifts in the governance and his approach to the politics, it's game over for him. |
