Early Times Report

Jammu, May 22: Terming decision of the State Cabinet to scrap the most controversial recruitment policy as victory of millions of educated unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidharthi Parishad (ABVP) today said that the organization was in fore-front to oppose this discriminatory and anti-youth policy. Be late, but is welcoming decision of the state government.
Addressing a meeting of State Executive Council held at its State Headquarters ABVP State Secretary Raghav Sharma reminded that when this highly discriminatory recruitment policy was formulated, ABVP was the first organization that had vociferously opposed it. ABVP had taken the fight for the justice on the streets and had publicly announced that the struggle would be taken to the logical conclusion. It is a victory of ABVP's struggle because our organization had taken up the fight on the streets and it was all due to the pressure of ABVP that government was forced to scrap this recruitment policy.
"As some people took this issue in the Court of Law, the ABVP had suspended its agitation as the matter was sub-judice", he said and revealed that ABVP had already devised a strategy to revive the agitation against the discriminatory recruitment policy.
Hailing activists of ABVP who had fought against this discriminatory recruitment policy, he said that as a responsible student organization ABVP is a fore-front to highlight problems being faced by the youth of the state. He asserted that ABVP would continue its fight for the cause of students and youth.
ABVP leader reminded that state Cabinet in 2011 had approved that new appointees for Class-III and Class-IV posts were paid fixed monthly salary equivalent to 50 per cent of the basic pay (Pay Band + Grade Pay) for the first two years. For the next three years or during the remaining period out of total five years, the employee was entitled to receive fixed salary of about 75 per cent of the basic pay.
ABVP leader said that youth are the worst victims of the wrong policies being propagated by the government headed by young Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He said that this government has betrayed educated unemployed youth in all spheres. He further said that ABVP will fight tooth and nail each and every wrong policy which will be formulated by the state as well as center government in future also.
